“To fill the dreams of one’s youth –

No man could dream of more”          Willa Cather

I am an artist – that statement fulfills the dream of my youth. Growing up in Brooklyn I escaped the crowded streets by drawing portraits of the movie stars of the day. Encouraged by my teachers I went on to win a scholarship to The Traphagen School of Fashion in Manhattan and later became a fashion illustrator for a fashion magazine. At the same time my desire was to expand my painting skills. Attending The Art Students League and Parsons School of Design helped further that goal.

After moving to
Long Island, I became part of the art community, joining organizations and exhibiting my work.  Because of the beauty of the beaches and parks I was moved to work on-site. Traveling through the Southwest, the land and the lore of the ancient culture captured me and was an inspiration for a new series of paintings. Always searching for ways to express myself I explored the world of abstract painting and collage, using a lifetime of experiences to create the stories I wished to tell.

My work has won numerous awards in exhibits nationwide and can be found in private collections across the country.

I believe that in fulfilling my youthful dream I have been rewarded with a life of adventure, accomplishment and joy.
